Ram Charan Shares He And Wife Upasana Always ‘Set Up A Temple’ Wherever They Go, Know Why

New Delhi: ‘RRR’ star Ram Charan is elated as ‘Naatu Naatu’ created history by winning Oscar in the Best Original Song category. The actor was in Los Angeles since a few days as he campaigned for the song before the 95th Academy Awards. Prior to the big night, Vanity Fair caught up with the actor and his wife Upasana Kamineni.

The video shows Ram Charan getting ready for the Academy Awards. The actor, known to be a very religious man, shared that he sets up a temple wherever he travels. “Wherever I go, usually my wife and I set up this small temple. This ritual just keeps us connected to our energies and India, and it’s very important for all of us to begin this day by thanking and showing gratitude to everything and every person who has helped us be here.  And not too much, but it’s just a few moments and we hit the road.”

The video shows Ram Charan and his wife Upasana offering prayers to idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman.

Ram, while getting ready, also shared about his ensemble and why he chose to wear Shantanu and Nikhil for the big night. ““It’s come out great and I’m feeling like I’m wearing India. It’s detailed beautifully with everything. It’s weighing down a little bit because India’s pride is also on our shoulders and it is a little heavy. But literally thank you Nikhil, you’ve done a great job. Here you have a Bharat coin which is imposed with the Bharat symbol,” he said in the video.

The video also showed his wife Upasana’s outfit for the day – a saree woven by handloom artisans from her Telangana. Her stylist said, “It is an Indian attire, it’s called saree, and it’s basically a Sanskrit word for a piece of cloth. Her saree is basically made out of silk scraps by Telangana artisans back in India, so it means a lot for them to be wearing that and representing their state and their city on the red carpet,”
Earlier, too, Ram Charan’s devout disposition has been appreciated by netizens. He has earlier spoken of his annual Ayyappa deeksha or vows, wherein for 40 days, he only dons black clothes, walks barefoot and shuns non-vegetarian food.
